The Poreux team of the LIONS Laboratory consists of three permanent researchers: one CNRS and two CEA.

The activities of this team are focused on the study of various porous materials (imogolites, clay and cementitious materials, nanoporous silica, etc.) for different purposes: in the framework of nuclear energy, but also for de-pollution and catalysis purposes, and in the context of the study of the toxicology of nanostructured materials. For these studies, the materials can be synthesized in the team. Thus, a platform allows the synthesis of imogolites and hybrid imogolites in large quantities (10-100 g / week). The structure of the materials can then be characterized by the SAXS instruments available. Finally, the reactivity in porous medium is studied thanks to the available irradiation tools (electron accelerator, gamma irradiator, platform coupling electron accelerator and in situ infrared spectroscopy).

In the framework of biomaterials and nanobio interfaces, the team studies also the interaction of nanostructured materials with biomolecules. More specifically, it is interested in structure and function of adsorbed and trapped proteins and its possible impact on materials toxicology and biocompatibility.
