My research interests are in the understanding of the physical properties of solids governing their electrochemical properties. More precisely, I am working at understanding how to control the redox properties, either cationic or anionic, of transition metal oxides for their electrocatalytic properties for water splitting, CO2 reduction and metal-air batteries but also as electrodes in Li-ion batteries. In my research, a special emphasis is paid to the determination of the mechanisms at play at the solid-liquid interface and the interplay existing between bulk properties and surface reactivity. With a background in solid-state chemistry of transition metal oxides, I am developing electrochemistry as a tool to understand their surface redox properties.
