Abstract:

Nanopores are ideal candidates for single molecule sensing and for the understanding of fundamental chemical principles in nanoscale dimension. Being able to understand the transport properties under the confinement effect is critical in many fields, ranging from biological applications to energy ones. Using the patch clamp as an electrochemical sensing tool, when applying a voltage, by observing the generated ionic current, electron transfer process or single biomolecule dynamic conformational changes can be monitored with high temporal and current resolution.
